IdleForce respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the data you entrust to us. This page explains what data we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your choices.
1. Information We Collect
We only collect the minimum data required to make the service work and to improve it:
- Device and system information: device model, OS version, available resources, battery level, app version and identifiers required for task scheduling and rewards accounting.
- Usage data: aggregated compute contribution metrics (CPU/GPU cycles, duration, task success/failure rates) used for reward calculation and analytics.
- Crash & diagnostics: non-identifying error logs to help us fix issues.
- Optional personal data: if you create an account or contact support, you may provide email or other contact details. Those are used only for account management and support.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Deliver and manage distributed computing tasks to your device when it's idle.
- Calculate and credit rewards based on contributions.
- Improve service reliability, performance, and user experience through analytics and A/B testing.
- Communicate with you about your account, rewards, and updates if you opted in or contacted support.
3. Cookies & Tracking
Our website uses minimal cookies for analytics and to remember display preferences. We do not use third-party advertising trackers as part of the app. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the website may require them to function.
4. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. We may share:
- Aggregated, non-identifying metrics with research partners or prospective partners to demonstrate network impact.
- Limited data with trusted service providers (e.g., analytics, hosting, email delivery) who are contractually bound to protect your information and only use it for the services they provide us.
- If required by law or to respond to legal processes, we may disclose information to comply with legal obligations.
5. Security
We take industry-standard measures to protect your data in transit and at rest. These include TLS for network communication, role-based access controls for internal systems, regular security reviews, and encryption where appropriate. While we strive to protect data, no system is 100% secure — if a vulnerability is discovered we'll act promptly and notify affected users when required by law.
6. Data Retention
We retain usage and diagnostics data as long as necessary to operate and improve the service. Account-related personal information is retained while your account exists and as needed for legal or auditing purposes.
7. Your Rights & Choices
- Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about your account.
- Delete: You may request deletion of your account and personal data in accordance with applicable law. Note that aggregated anonymized metrics cannot be erased from historical reports.
- Opt-out: You can opt out of analytics or marketing communications via app settings or the unsubscribe links in emails.
8. Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed to children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us and we will take steps to remove that information.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted with a new effective date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
